A LonG TiMe

Ok so it sure has been a really long time since I have posted anything and A LOT has happened since the last post. So, here I go. This might be long...

First of all we are doing great! Reid just started back to school this last week and I am busy working. This last week I was working two jobs. I recently got a new job working from home!! I am so excited:) So, this last week I worked my new job and finished my last week at the chiropractor's office (my old job). It was one busy week working 60 hours and then having 7 zoning clients on top of it! But it made the time fly by and now I'm just down to one job. WooHoo! It is sure a blessing, so now I can work from home when I do have the baby and we won't have to worry about scheduling around Reid's school schedule. I'm so excited to be a stay at home mom but still be able to help with our finances. What can I say but it sure is a blessing! (one of our many).

So, I think I'm going to work backward in our events:) Reid and I were able to spend a week in Boise with my sister's family. We went up for our nephew Caleb's baptism and decided to make a vacation out of it. It was so great to spend time with my parents, who were also able to go up for the baptism, and my sister and her family. We are so proud of Caleb and his decision to be baptized! While we were there Reid hit up the slopes and did quite a bit of snowboarding. He was so happy to be able to do that since it has been 2 years since he had a chance to go. I of course didn't go, due to my current situation :) So, I spent all my time with my family. My sister and I started a rag quilt for my little guy! I'm so excited to finish it and post some pics for everyone to see. We were also able to get together with some friends that we both have in Boise. It's always great to catch up on everything with the people you don't see too often. While we were in Boise I felt the first time our little guy kicked!! It was the coolest experience. What an amazing thing! It now really feels like we are having a baby, now that I can feel him moving around in there. I remember I was sitting on the floor chatting with my sister and my neices and all of a sudden a thump! At first I wasn't sure it was the baby, but I had a hunch so I sat still and quiet to see if he would do it again and sure enough he did!!! I was so excited! Reid was up snowboarding so I texted him to tell him I felt the baby move for the first time. He was thrilled! And now Reid can feel the little boy move around. It's such a wonderful thing!

Before we went to Idaho we spent Christmas in California with Reid's family. It was a great time! We had Christmas a day early with his dad, step mom, Nikko, Nickolas, Miles and Riley so that the twin boys could head to their dad's house for Christmas and also so Matt and Shantele could head down to Texas to spend some time with Sean, Summer and their new baby Oliver. We then had another Christmas at Reid's moms house with Lisa, Miles, and Riley. Two in a row. Can't beat that:) We had a great time spending time relaxing and hanging with Reid's family.

The day we were leaving for California for Christmas I went and did my visiting teaching. When I came home I wasn't feeling too swell. I thought it was probably just some cramping from the baby growing and my uterus expanding. (I had had some it that a few weeks earlier) But within just a few minutes I was balled up on the floor in extreme pain. So much pain that it made me cry. Reid realized I was crying and started to really worry. So he texted our midwife and told her what was happening. She told him to get me to the hospital. I really didn't want to go! I was just hoping it was nothing serious, but Reid wouldn't let me out of it. So to the hospital we went. We ended up spending over 4 hours there with them running test after test to see what was happening. They did an ultrasound on the baby to make sure he was ok (that was when we found out for sure our baby is a boy. There was no mistaking it in that ultrasound). He was doing just fine. So they checked my kidneys, since they found blood in my urine, and they were just fine as well. After all of this work and testing and 45 minutes before we had to be on the road to the airport to catch our plane, they said they ruled out the worst but still unsure of what was happening. So, we went on with our plans and headed to California. I did well during the trip, until Sunday. During church I started to have bad cramping again. So, when we got home we went to follow up with our midwife. The Dr. did an ultrasound and found blood around my placenta, so he referred me to a specialist. Right after we left our appointment we headed over to the specialists office to see what they could tell us. They did another ultrasound and discovered that (in a nutshell) my placenta is pulling away from the uterus wall, causing preterm labor. They told me to take it easy for a couple of weeks and see how it goes. I am doing just fine now but we have to keep an eye on it to make sure it continues to do well. I'm pretty confident we will do great from here on out!

Whew! Wow that was a lot of info and I'm sure I have probably left out some stuff. But I will sure try to be better about keeping this thing up to date:) Esp. so our little boy can look back and see the wonderful journey of him coming into the world and being a part of our family! Here is a picture from when I was 21 weeks. It's getting closer to me needing to post a new updated picture, so plan on that happening soon :)
