Week before Eliah turned 1

Reid's mom came out for a visit the week before Eliah turned one! We had a great time and love it when family comes to visit. (You all are welcome anytime!)
We took a short trip to the Grand Canyon. We stayed the night in Flagstaff and then drove down to Sedona and spent the day before heading back home to the valley. It was a quick trip but so fun to see everything our beautiful state has to offer. Lisa had to head back home on Eliah's birthday, but she was able to experience a little bit of his special day before heading to the airport.

We passed an air museum on our way up to the Grand Canyon. So Reid wanted to stop on our way back to our hotel room after seeing the Grand Canyon. When we stopped it was a little bit pricey, so just Reid and Eliah went through the museum while Lisa and I looked at all the brochures in the lobby. Reid said Eliah loved looking at all the planes. I think he might take after his daddy :) Here are some of the planes Reid and Eliah saw.

The following day was Sedona. That is such a beautiful town. We were just there for Mother's Day weekend and were so excited to be going again. I think we will take a trip there every chance we get. We did the airport hike. It was a big loop around the mountain the airport is on. It has some of the prettiest views of Sedona. Plus you get to see some old planes fly overhead. This was the hike we didn't get to finish the last time we were there because we were unprepared for something for Eliah. (We just had our stroller and that wouldn't work on this hike.)

After our hike we had lunch and walked around town for a little while before heading home. It was a great short weekend.
The rest of the week Reid and Lisa worked on our backyard. And it is finally finished! It is beautiful! I will have to take some pics to share all of the hard work Reid did. Lisa got Eliah a few gifts for him to open for his birthday before she had to leave.

I guess I don't have a picture of the bedtime story book she got him. But it is a great book and Eliah loves all the animals that are in it.
