Ok, so here goes a massive post!
haha. I guess that will make up for not posting in such a long time. Reid and I spent the 4
th of July with my family in New Mexico. We went up to the Bar D in
Durango and went to the western show and dinner. It is such a great place! This was Reid's first time attending (which is really sad since we have been married almost 2 years. And it is a yearly family tradition we do!) Anytime you are in the
Durango area between Memorial Day and Labor Day, it is a must see! From there we drove farther into the mountains and went camping and 4 wheeling for a few days. This is also another family tradition of ours (this tradition Reid loves and is always up for camping and 4 wheeling). Which I am glad because it is such a fun
activity. After camping we loaded everything up and headed to Mesa Verde. They are Indian ruins that were built in the cliffs of a mesa in the Colorado area. I grew up only a couple of hours away and had never been. Actually, a lot of my family hadn't been either. Reid was also pretty excited to see the historic site:) We drove and hiked around several different ruin sites. They are pretty amazing and crazy to imagine that vertical climbing on cliffs was just a part of every day life! (That's pretty smart to think of that to keep enemies away) Wow, can you just think of how strong you would be my climbing a face of a cliff (with bare hands and feet) every time you needed to go any where? Boy I would be one ripped
chica if that's what I had to do to go anywhere!
haha. I don't know if I could do it...maybe that's why I didn't live back then.
haha.
Ok, enough of my little tangent...moving on with the events of our vacation. We got back to

my parents house just in time to watch the city fireworks from my parents back yard. (Best seats in town and we didn't have to deal with traffic! Woo
Hoo!) My mom bought a ton of sparklers and we all were lighting them all off! We were having such a great time drawing in the air and just watching all the sparkles glitter in the night sky. The next day my mom's side of the family had a mini family reunion with a
bbq and lots of catching up with long lost relatives. Reid has now officially met all of my mom's siblings. He told me that he now has a new insight on why I am the way I am. Whatever that means:) When we got back home we made some home made vegan ice cream. This was my best recipe of ice cream thus far! It sure was tasty...even my nieces and nephews loved it. It was chocolate raspberry and sure tasty:) Sunday we spent the morning hanging out with my parents before we hit the road to come back home. What a great 4
th of July!! Hope

you all had a wonderful weekend as well!!

Loading up and ready to GO! The guys in the band at the Bar D were so funny and great at singing and playing their instruments! Just ask Reid...he was loving it. So talented!

Reid dunking his head in a stream by our camp site.
Machado loved being in the mountains and running free! Reid surprised me with the flowers he picked on one of his rides on the 4wheelers. Isn't he so sweet!!
Mmmm, smoothies for breakfast:)
Shot of Mesa Verde at the park entrance. So pretty! Just imagine living in these homes on the cliff side. INTENSE!!
The beautiful fireworks and sparklers!! Oh and of course my wonderful nieces and nephews and sister. We were all tired and had just taken showers so we were ready for bed:)
GOTTA LOVE THE 4TH of JULY AND FAMILY!! BEST COMBO EVER!

We love the BarD! So much fun! Makes me miss home!
That looks like a great 4th! I love the 4-wheeler picture. You guys are cute together. Those indian ruins look awesome! Way better than the ones I posted about. That's funny that we both went to some! We still haven't tried your vegan ice cream yet... I'm going to do that this week!
I know!! We should have gotten together. I even got your number from Kristina so I could call you and then my mom booked us solid. We are coming back in December. We'll get together then. Maybe we can go hiking or something being it won't be so blazing hot!
Looks like a lot of fun! Glad to see you've posted again. You're almost as bad as I am. I love all of the pictures too! One more month until school starts for us here. COME BACK!!
