Road Trip

"On the Road Again, can't wait to get on the road again..."

Eliah did great on his first road trip! He is such a great little traveler.

We took a trip out to San Diego on August 13-15, 2010.

Reid was itchin to do some surfing before school started and I wanted a vacation, so we packed up and headed to the beach.

Too bad it was FREEZING! Ok, so maybe it wasn't too cold, but for us Arizonans it was COLD!

I was really looking forward to just lounging on the beach all day long while Reid and his brother Miles surfed. We packed a cooler, beach umbrella, food, beach chairs, and I even made a beach blanket (Which I need to finish, ahem).

It was nice an sunny when we arrived, so we headed straight for the ocean before checking into our hotel. The closer we got to the water the colder, windier, and cloudier it got!! I couldn't believe it! It was mid August, it wasn't supposed to feel like November.

Here we are in the CVS parking lot just yards off the beach. It was cold! And it didn't get any better the whole weekend. But Eliah and I made the best of it. We slept in late and lounged around the hotel all weekend! It was fabulous. Saturday we walked the board walk and pacific beach for a couple of hours. Eliah did great, he pretty much slept the whole time.

Reid's brother Miles drove down from San Mateo and met up with us. It was great that Eliah was able to meet another one of his uncles.
